As a police contact officer, his aim is to facilitate cooperation and communication between Muslims in Mönchengladbach and the police through intensive contact with the Muslim population, especially with representatives of Muslim communities and Muslim associations.

He is also to pass on knowledge about Islam and the culture of Muslims in Germany to the police officers in Mönchengladbach.

Finally, the aim is also to identify radicalization tendencies (Islamism, Salafism) in good time in order to be able to provide help to those affected and their relatives at an early stage.
