The Mönchengladbach police are pleased to announce the introduction of a new item of clothing to the NRW police uniform: the polo shirt.
The lightweight fabric is particularly well suited to the warm summer temperatures and will be worn with immediate effect by police officers on guard and change duty, district duty and traffic duty.
Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) had already emphasized at the NRW-wide launch: "The new shirts were put through their paces by the police officers beforehand. The new summery look will certainly be surprising at first, but is already the norm in many European vacation countries. It's a good way to dress for the soccer summer."
The police officers in Mönchengladbach can now decide for themselves whether they want to wear the new polo shirt or the tried-and-tested short-sleeved shirt. Both offer functionality and professionalism in terms of service clothing.
The introduction of the polo shirts in Mönchengladbach is part of the ongoing efforts of the NRW police to modernize the service clothing of the emergency services and adapt it to the requirements of everyday police work. Particular attention was paid to the quality of the fabric, the wearing comfort and the interaction with the protective vest.
This makes the polo shirt a valuable addition to the existing uniform.
