(jd) A 59-year-old woman from Löhn discovered that her bag was missing on Wednesday (16.07.): She had stowed it in a bicycle basket on Siemshofer Kirchweg at around 11.00 am. Unknown persons apparently took advantage of a brief moment to take the Eastpak brand bag unobserved. Among other things, the bag contained a wallet with bank and ID cards as well as cash in the three-digit range. The woman from Löhn then filed a complaint with the police. In the afternoon, the employee of a post office branch contacted the Löhner woman, as the wallet and all the identification documents had been handed in here - but without the bag and without the cash. The Herford criminal investigation department has taken over the investigation and is asking any witnesses who can provide information about the incident to call 05221/8880.
