BMW overturns

(jd) A 38-year-old man from Preußisch Oldendorf was driving his BMW on Hansastraße in the direction of Preußisch Oldendorf yesterday (16.07.) at 12:10. When a truck was in front of him, the man started to overtake. The rear of the BMW swerved and the 38-year-old lost control of the vehicle on the rain-soaked road. He skidded onto the adjacent grass verge, where he ripped two traffic signs from their anchors before crashing into a tree and a parked vehicle and coming to a halt lying on its roof on a property wall. The 38-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital by an ambulance. Initial estimates put the damage to property at over 75,000 euros.
