Collision between e-scooter rider and cyclist

(jd) An accident occurred on the cycle path on Diemker Straße at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday (26.4.). A 9-year-old from Spenge was riding his bike on the cycle path in the direction of Bardüttingdorf. At the junction with Diemker Eck, a previously unknown e-scooter driver came towards him. The cyclist and the e-scooter driver collided, causing both to crash onto the cycle path. The e-scooter driver initially enquired about the boy, but then continued his journey without fulfilling his obligations as a party to the accident. The 9-year-old was injured in the accident and received medical treatment. The previously unknown e-scooter driver is around 16 to 17 years old, has black hair and was wearing black clothing at the time of the accident. The Herford police traffic commissioner's office is asking the e-scooter driver involved in the accident or any witnesses who can provide information about the accident to contact them on 05221/8880.
